We are currently seeking an experienced and driven Automation Engineer (BMS/EMS) to join the Execution Systems (MAM-ES) Department at Janssen Biologics BV in Leiden . This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of pharmaceutical manufacturing automation in a collaborative, highly professional, and fast-paced environment.

Candidate profile


A Bachelor’s degree (HBO level) or higher in Industrial Automation, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline.
2–5 years of hands-on experience in automation within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
3+ years of solid experience with modern BMS platforms; Honeywell systems (HC900, EBI R600) and/or Priva experience is highly preferred.
Working knowledge of GAMP 5, control philosophies, functional specifications, and lifecycle documentation.
Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and work with instrumentation and control equipment in an industrial setting.
Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal), Dutch is a Plus.
VCA and NEN 3140 certifications (mandatory).
A proactive, detail-oriented, and collaborative mindset, capable of working independently and as part of a dynamic team.
